Ambon to Sorong

The crossing between the island of Ambon and the Raja Ampat, allows you to discover two exceptional areas difficult to access other than by boat.

Your day by day itinerary

DAY 01 | Embarkation

After we pick you up from the airport or from your hotel, you will arrive to the harbor and board the ship. Installation in the respective cabins, rigging of blocks. Presentation of the crew and general briefing of the life of the boat and the safety rules on board by the cruise director.

3 hours cruising to reach the island of Molana for the check dive.

DAY 02 | Suanggi

Suanggi is surrounded by the Abyss. This rock is the visible part of a large plateau, which drops into the deep ocean of the Banda Sea. This spot is ideal for diving with hammerhead sharks, oceanic sunfish, and even thresher sharks. There are a lot of Bluefin Trevallies and Napoleons around.

DAY 03 & 04 | Manuk

Located a night of navigation of the Banda Islands, Manuk offers a very special atmosphere with its sulfur fumes, and thousands of seabirds. From the activity of its volcano, underwater bubbles can be observed by divers.

Emerging from the abyssal seabed of the Banda Sea, the island’s tortured reefs are an annual pilgrimage hotspot for the seasonal schools of hammerhead sharks. You hold your breath when you’re surrounded by a hundred of hammerheads. It’s an intense experience. Hundreds of sea snakes (laticauda semifasciata), attracted by the heat of its slopes, have also taken up residence. We will dive the sites of Coconut Corner, Snake’s Nest, and the mythical Long Ridge.

DAY 05 | Karang Hatta & Hatta Island

Karang Hatta is a large submerged reef located two nautical miles south of Hatta Island. Rising on the underwater plateau of the Banda Islands, its walls fall vertically to 300 meters deep, before sinking into the abyss. We will once again try to dive with the schools of hammerheads sharks, while enjoying the regular passage of big dogtooth tuna, mackerel , schools of big-eye jacks, humpback parrots and barracudas…

A short navigation will allow us to reach one of the best dive sites of the Banda Islands. The Curve or Tanjung Button, is another Hammerhead shark viewing hotspot in Indonesia. Currents can be fierce and require careful planning.

DAY 06 | Bandaneira

30 minutes from the port of Bandaneira, Batu Kapal is the most famous site of the Banda Islands. This rock in the shape of container, conceals a wide plateau with 3 pinnacles underwater. Giant groupers and barracudas mingle with bannerfish and blue ballists in a real fairy tale. Pohon Miring and its incredible tunnel, attracts many napoleons, and jacks.

In the early afternoon, an excursion to the island of Bandaneira will be organized to visit the market, the old Dutch fort, and the spice plantations.

DAY 07 | Koon Island

Welcome to Too Many Fish. This sandy slope protected by WWF is known to be a breeding ground for groupers. It attracts many schools of fish, whose species diversity is similar to the Raja Ampat.

Choosing the dive sites according to the currents, we will jump alternately on the wall, or directly on its sandy tip. Two dives only, then crossing for 20 hours to reach Misool.

DAY 08 | Wayil

Let's start well this day with the Baracuda Rock dive site, full of schooling fishes and some nice currents.Close by, we dive Wedding Cake with it's original topography and coral garden.

In the afternoon, our third dive of the day is one of our personal favorite: Gorgonian Passage or also named Neptune's Fan Sea and it's thousands of huge soft corals. Usually a nice drift dive. We end the day with the a big Misool highlight, the Heart Shaped Lagoon.

DAY 09 | Fiabacet & Boo

Heading to South-East of Misool in Fiabacet. We will dive some famous dive sites today, like Tank Rock and Nudi Rock, where there are plenty of fans of soft corals and amazing walls to explore.

Next, Boo Rocks, two large rocky openings that completely pierce the island. The density of fish and the explosion of colors makes it breathtaking.

DAY 10 | Yilliet

We enjoy one more morning dive in Whale Rock in Fiabacet before heading to Yilliet. There, we dive Romeo & Yuliet (got it?), two amazing dive sites full of life and colors.

Next, beach time in the afternoon at the famous Shark Beach of Yilliet. Where you can snorkel in shallow crystal clear water with baby sharks. Now is the time for our famous Teman Beach BBQ. Enjoy some relaxing time, a nice drink and some volleyball on our nice beach setup while fresh grilled fish is getting prepared for you.

DAY 11 | Balbulol

After a cruising time to the North-East of Misool, we arrive in Balbulol where we enjoy two dives: No contest and Love Potion. You will be able to see rocks with vertical walls, amazing soft coral cover, a large variety of fish including schools of Platax and Snappers as well as humpback Parrot Fish. Last, you will dive in the Masker Cave.

DAY 12 | Lenkafal

Farondi Cave and Arch, a renowned dive location in Misool, captivates divers with an initial swim through a stunning arch adorned with soft corals. Following a delightful drift along a curved wall, divers encounter the cave, providing an unforgettable safety stop amidst giant gorgonians and pygmy seahorses. Non-divers can relish a dinghy ride in the Farondi lagoon, exploring its natural land caves.

Next, embark on a journey to the distinctive Lenmakana Jellyfish Lake. After a brief hike, you'll uncover this secluded haven, teeming with countless golden medusa. Immerse yourself in their midst using only a snorkel and mask. Concluding the adventure, a final dinghy ride offers a farewell glimpse of the renowned cave paintings.

DAY 13 | Back to Sorong

We're back in Sorong after 16 hours of cruising where you will enjoy your last breakfast.

It's already time to say goodbye but we will have the opportunity to exchange our best photos and anecdotes of these few days spent together.
